One of the best things about black and white photography is that it gives the viewer a chance to truly view the images. Consider an eye. If you take a close up of an eye, you see the eye, the face, the eyelashes, and more. You see the colors of it all. Now, imagine removing the colors. You will be able to see the shadows, the light reflections, the ripples of light in the iris, and more.
This same concept is true when you photograph a tree, a person, a pet, or anything else. The people viewing it will be forced to see JUST the image that you want them to see, without the distraction of colors. This can ultimately make it breathtaking, stunning, and attention grabbing, which is ultimately what you want your artwork to be able to do.
